Each whips carries a minor blessing but also a curse that may complicate your attempt at riches and glory. What really adds to this is how Phantom Abyss does its levels: Once someone wins a particular delve they get the treasure at the bottom and that's it—nobody else can ever play or win it again.

Only consider taking this ability if you run the Vine Whip or Ice Whip. The boosted jump of this blessing can stack with the boosted jump of the Vine Whip -- in which case, I would probably move it up a tier.

Soul Armor's best use is as a panic button; if you find yourself overwhelmed with Guardians or traps, or are falling into a bottomless pit, activate your armor and get yourself to safety ASAP, because your invulnerability will not last very long. Your charges are limited, so don't just waste it on barreling through simple traps.

This ultimately leaves Phantom Abyss feeling like a treasure chest that’s only partially filled – it has its share of gems that shine brightly yet leaves enough space to make you wonder about the Phantom Abyss Speedrun treasures that could have been.

My biggest gripes with this action platformer concern the temperamental physics, repetitive maps, and lengthy load times.
